Through July 17, I’m going to be in Utah and Idaho doing some classes and visiting family. My son Joshua is also getting married and there are the various activities associated with that — including meeting his fiance, Talayna.
My goal for this trip other than spending time with family is to travel light and go wherever the Spirit leads. I’m staying with different people, but don’t really have nailed when I’ll be where other than I’m starting off at my friend Martina Muir’s house and have classes on June 17 and 24 in North Salt Lake.
I’m doing this in conjunction with the 90 Day Light the World: Build the Kingdom Challenge where I pray each day for what one thing I can do to light the world and build the kingdom of God on the earth for that day. Then, act accordingly.
I hope to come away from this trip …
- With a better understanding of myself and my divine purpose.
- With a good solid trajectory for the next phase of my life.
- Having helped as many people as I can along the way.
- Having made new friends and connections
- Releasing the remaining 7 pounds to get to my ideal weight.
- With enough money saved to start over when I get home: specifically 3 months apartment rent and enough to pay cash for a used car because mine is at the point that it’s undrivable and not worth sinking more money into.
I thought it would be fun to document this process as it goes and if you’d like, you’re welcome to come along for the ride. My boys are coming with me so they can visit with their dad who lives in Layton, UT.
So here goes, Day 1
We began the day by waking up at 7 am in Soddy-Daisy Tennessee. My boys and I were booked on the 9 am shuttle to Atlanta which leaves from East Ridge, Tennessee
It’s only a 30 minute drive, but I wanted to get going before the crazy traffic during rush hour. So we managed to actually get there in 30 minutes and just made the 8:00 am shuttle, so we were an hour ahead of schedule.
This gave us time for a couple unexpected situations.
First, we learned that standing on a scale and holding a bag is obviously not a good way to determine the weight of your luggage. What we thought was a 50 lb bag was 66. Ouch. Between moving things around, throwing a couple cheap things away, maxing out my laptop bag, and the heavenly gift of a super nice attendant… They took it with 56 lbs.
Second the early arrival gave time for a little extra TLC by the TSA in Atlanta Security. Here’s a photo of the small little sparkly studs on my pants that awarded me a TSA grope.
I guess I should be grateful. Perhaps it’s the universal law of compensation making up for the fact that I won’t be getting any groping in the foreseeable future.
Our plane took off on time at 12:50 pm ET and we arrived thirty minutes early after an extremely choppy approach into Salt Lake City. I learned when we were on the ground that the area has had crazy high winds.
I do pretty well with turbulence because I just imagine that I’m driving up that bumpy pot-hole ridden road I lived on for 18 years. The boys did fine with it to0. They are pretty chill boys. They just roll with life.
The boys’ father picked us up when we were on the ground and took me to my friend Martina Muir’s house. I’ll be staying with her for the beginning of the trip and probably off and on throughout. She’s the best; and got me through my rough patch a couple years ago. So, it’s going to be fun staying with her and her sweet, brilliant children, whom I love.
Martina and I had a great time catching up. She had a lot of work to do because she has a booth and is the concluding speaker at the Energy Healing Conference in Layton, Utah on Tuesday and Wednesday. I went to bed early for Utah time, but late for me at home (about 10:30 pm MT/12:30 am ET).
