It seems to me that one of the greatest issues people face is amnesia about who they really are… an identity crisis. Most of us on this planet have no clue that we are children of the Creator of the Universe or the implication of that. Because we don’t know who we are, we think there is something inherently wrong with us, that who we are isn’t good enough or worth enough.
Thus people search under every rock for something that will “fix” them… whether it’s altering their bodies or losing themselves in drugs, sex or alcohol.
Still others equate their value with their ability to produce, to make money, to acquire material possessions, to achieve status or acknowledgement from other people. I doubt there’s one of us who is immune from this. We all succumb to amnesia about who we really are at times.
Occasionally though, when we get quiet and connect the divine within us with the great Divine, we catch a glimpse of who we truly are. When we have those moments, it’s so important to write them down, because they generally don’t last. Life happens, challenges arise, other people tell us we’re not enough, or our own inner insecurities take over.
But if you’ve written those insights down when they happen, you can go back to them, review them, and re-remember who you are. Take time to discover who you are and WRITE IT DOWN! You are an amazing, beautiful, being of light with infinite potential. God loves you and WANTS you to find joy. When you really get that, really believe that, and trust it, you have a surge of confidence knowing you are never alone and that anything is possible.
If you struggle with self-confidence or believing that God wants good things for you, I invite you to get my new book, Confidence Rising: Trust Your Heart. Be Yourself. Bless Lives.
