There have been seasons in my life when everything seemed like a mess and that there was no way out of that mess. It’s very easy to get where you never expect anything good to happen ever again. That is how I felt until an angel changed everything for me.

I’ve been thinking about how some people were born into circumstances where all they’ve known is drama and difficulty. Hard things is their normal. Since what we think about we bring about, this way of being becomes self perpetuating. It can feel next to impossible to believe in anything different or know what something better would look like. It often takes someone special to come along or some big shift to occur to help that person change their thinking and believe in good things to come.

The thing that shifted me out of my negative thinking was my mom. One day a few weeks after she passed, the words entered my mind, “Your life is about to get amazing with this new angel on your side.” I didn’t believe in much, but I DID believe in my mom and that she would move heaven and earth for me. From that moment, I knew good things were on their way to me, and I began to look for the good. My life truly became amazing.

I wish I could help everyone have one of those transformational moments when you shift from doubt and fear to hope and faith in good things to come. If you can flip that switch from expecting difficulty to living your life with observant, expectant gratitude, miracles can happen. As my friend Leslie Robertson Householder often says, “When given the choice, I choose to believe.” Choose to believe that your life is about to get amazing. There truly ARE angels on your side. They want to help you. Ask God for them to help you. Then look for the good and receive.
