Creativity Challenge: Art, Music and Poetry

Spread the love

For my creativity challenge project today I combined art, music, and poetry. I went to the meadow on our property for inspiration, and took my sketchpad, and drawing supplies along with the new easel I picked up at Hobby Lobby for only $17.50. The easel was the display model and the last one they had. Fantastic deal, I thought.

I selected a section of the meadow to sketch. The trickiest part was getting the rolling hills to look like they were rolling hills. The lines of the mowed grass helped me with this because they worked like a grid that I measured and then drew. When I got them drawn, the hills sort of took care of themselves.

After finishing the sketch, I came inside, put my art on the piano, and looked at the picture while I recorded an extemporaneous piano piece to go with it. Next, I wrote a poem to correspond with the art and created this video that brings all three together. I used Camtasia 9 to create the video.

I hope you enjoy today’s project. I had a lot of fun creating it.

How could you combine some of your artistic interests into one project?
